A: The RBCS Series is optimized for high-purity plastic tubing commonly used in cleanrooms—including PFA, PTFE, PVDF, and Nylon—as well as homogeneous metal pipes like 316L stainless steel and copper. It covers pipe outer diameters from 1/4''(6.35mm) up to 60.3mm.
Q2: What are the main physical limitations of non-contact clamp-on ultrasonic measurement?
A: Clamp-on measurement can be limited by three main factors:
Pipe Wall Condition: Multi-layer lined pipes with air gaps, porous cast iron, or heavily corroded walls scatter acoustic signals.
Fluid Composition: High concentrations of entrained air bubbles or dense suspended micro-particles absorb ultrasonic waves.
Pipe Fill: The pipeline must remain fully filled (100%) without air pockets or half-empty gravity flow.
Q3: What alternative R&B flowmeter should be chosen if clamp-on installation is not suitable?
A: If clamp-on installation is restricted:
For unobstructed straight-through lines with no pressure drop, select the RBTPD (with 1.3" OLED display) or RBTPK (OEM inline) series.
For high-pressure liquid cooling or stainless steel loops, select the RBTAD Series with sanitary tri-clamp fittings.
For micro-dosing and additive tracking down to 1mL/min, specify the RBTGU Series.
